​Course Description
This class is designed to help you develop your listening skills to pick out rhythms, melodies, chords, and other patterns in music. By developing your listening skills, you will have a much deeper understanding on how music is put together, a deeper understanding of the music you listen to.  You will also be able to improve your piano playing skills since you will be able to pick out incorrect notes and rhythms.

What You Need to Know

  1. How to read music
  2. How to find notes on the piano
  3. The basics of rhythm such as time signatures and note durations

By the End of The Course ​You Will Be Able To:

  1. Hear the differences between chords. 
  2. Hear the differences between notes (intervals).
  3. Pick out mistakes in your playing more easily.  
  4. Play back what you hear on the piano. 


​How Long It Will Take to Finish the Course

Slow/Moderate Learners
2 to 3 weeks per unit x 5 units = 10 to 15 weeks

Fast Learners
1/2 to 1 week per unit = 2 1/2 to 5 weeks
