​Eighth Notes - Piano Lessons for Beginners 

​Ever hear “and” when someone is counting out the beats but wonder what it means? Confused on when to break up the notes when you look at music sheets? Time for the next lesson! In this tutorial you’re going to get some important rhythmic practice. Today we are going to be talking about the eighth note and you’ll learn what it is, what it looks like, and how to count it. As promised, we will do a few rhythmic examples for you to learn how to play these notes on the piano.  Also keep in mind that an eighth note splits a note in half, so there are two eighth notes in a quarter note.
