There's no need to carry music with you, a metronome, (as there are lots of metronome apps), notes from your lessons, and even communication with your teacher through email is a great convenience. 

Learning the Piano isn't Just About Playing the Piano

There's so much you can learn...even if you don't want to or can't take your physical keyboard with you!

• You can learn your notes by doing note reading exercises online
• You can practice counting and other rhythm skills with online theory exercises
• You can watch videos about any music theory, rhythm, note learning and other skills and still learn, without playing it all
• You can also email questions to your teacher and get responses
• You can even set up a Skype meeting with your teacher to check in on some specific challenges or questions
• You can revisit your saved lessons and/or videos time and time again

You can do all of the above wherever you are, as long as you have internet access, and still spend the day lounging at the beach. 

If you're able to take your keyboard with you, then you can do real-time practicing and playing anytime you get a chance, or want to. If you need to leave your keyboard at home, then there are still plenty of other areas of your studies that you can focus on and work on while traveling the world.
